Silencieux is their KILLER Napa Cab, blended from their portfolio of stunning single vineyard Cab line-up, with a boost of cooler-climate fruit from down in Napa’s southern reaches – and this is big & bad, supremely polished, and certainly NOT FOR THE SHY!

These famed grape growers have been crafting their own kick-ass Cabs across Napa Valley for the last two generations, and I’m not sure there is a more ICONIC father-son winemaking duo than Nils and Kirk Venge anywhere in the USA! The juice is powerful and intense (I did SHOUT, not-for-the-shy, after all), but that cool, red fruit, and high-toned freshness makes this HIGHLY crushable – rounded out with 50% new French oak granting those layers of baking spice, and savory barrel elements. Unfettered hedonism with a born-again streak of puritanical freshness, if you will. Black plums, crushed raspberries, plenty of mulberries, and this uplifting minerality that brings notes of flint and crushed volcanic rock swirling to the fore. My first glass went down like Gatorade after an hour on the elliptical – and now that my corned beef hash has arrived – the rest of that bottle is sure to follow!
