Benoit Touquette may be best known for his work crafting mailing-list only, unbelievably CULT-Y California Cabs at heralded wineries like Realm, Hartwell, Fait-Main, and more – but I’m pretty sure this is the only brand he’s ever headlined that is making an UNDER $20 Cabernet Sauvignon!
Just as before, this rare and meticulously crafted BARREL SELECTION contains bits and bobs of his favorite Cabernet lots – and in the STUNNING 2023 vintage…I challenge you to find a better price, on a better wine than this – it simply CANNOT be done! This is cool, exotic, and supple – with aromas of créme de cassis, a supple core of dark berries, laced with brandied cherries and dusty blueberries, then infused with Bordeaux-esque elements of graphite, roasted herbs, and this lingering kiss of vanilla bean with dark chocolate shavings…DANG! It hits all the notes a Cali-Cab should – at a price that straight THUMPS the noggin! A nice grip on the finish, with some saliva-inducing acidity, and a jubilant and lengthy finish…YES!
