Spring Mountain Vineyard Red Blend Elivette Spring Mountain District Napa Valley 2011

Let’s get ELIVETTED! 95 POINTS and the utterly unbelievable savings of over 88% OFF the winery price! A personal favorite vintage, too?! YES!!!

Brand-spanking-new, freshly delivered straight from the winery’s personal library – and it’s…all…ours!!! This is our THIRD day of breaking out the Elivette emergency stash – and yes, the single largest purchase in Last Bottle history continues to make sure you fine people are swimming in the goods…at simply dizzying prices. As before – these pristine and perfectly aged wines have proven to FLY…and 95 POINTS, and 14 years young, for UNDER $30?! The countdown is ON!!!

It’s taken a few years, but 2011 is FINALLY getting its due as the sort of vintage that the early critics got DEAD WRONG. Sure, it was cool and damp, with yields down up to 60% in a lot of places, and the sort of harvest that winemakers still haven’t mentally recovered from. (Therapy helps, y’all!) But year after year, the best wines, from the best estates, have watched with glee as the 2011 flagship gets better and better! Now?! For this FLAGSHIP?! It absolutely SLAYS!

Brilliant red cherries and plums, with floral violets and peonies, then explosive little bursts of lingonberries, an onrush of silky milk chocolate, with a descent into darkness with blueberries, blackberries, iron, volcanic gravel, warm clay, and black raspberries, too! WOWZA, this is good! There’s a soft and pervasive attack of all the fruits and flowers, but the finish is kinda spicy, with a cooling, herb bite that brings it all into focus. This 2011 proves yet again that a cooler vintage, with challenging conditions, isn’t the apocalypse that naysayers originally predicted – and with every passing season, this climbs the ranks of my all-time favorite Napa growing seasons. The wines are oh-so unique, and CRAZY complex, with a purity and intensity that just seems to get better, and better, and…wait! WAIT!!! What are you still doing here?!?! There’s NO TIME!!!

Go grab yours already! And be ready to grab some more once this sells out – ‘cause some never-before-seen (at least here on Last Bottle) LEGENDS are sure to follow! Three cheers to even MORE Elivette!!!
