Mystery Red Blend Napa Valley 2020
Happy Halloween! We’re decked out in our costumed finest, but want to close out the week with one...final...MYSTERY! A Top 10 wine, with a 96 POINT score, from an iconic Bordeaux house’s new Napa outpost!
TOP 100 wine in da HOUSE! Wine Spectator loves this new project that boasts an incredible Left Bank Bordeaux pedigree – and they aren’t alone! 96 POINTS from another top critic, and TONS more critical praise that we simply DO NOT have time for! Y’all have crushed it ALL…WEEK…LONG – but who’s up for one last Mystery?
Normally $225 at the simply stunning winery that sits tucked away on the western edge of southern Saint Helena – the previous owners of this estate opted for a tasting room on Highway 29, famous (infamous?) for its…let’s say…sacred feminine architecture. In a few short years since this French couple purchased the estate, these wines have SKYROCKETED in quality – and this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot is a BEAST! We got all that was left in the world on this smooth criminal – and we’re blowing it out for over $120 LESS than the next best price in the USA!
Nearly 70% OFF!!! Oui, chef! That’s under $70 for all you mathematically-challenged folks (I’m right there with you)! This French couple was all about the mountains – hardcore skiers with a soft spot for world-class, thoughtful, and sustainable agriculture. They named this wine after a pair of Highland brothers – who first settled on the estate in 1885 – and blend fruit from two estate plots, including a hillside parcel of old vines that gives this CRAZY depth.
The winemaking team was selected from their legendary Bordeaux estate – and the wine reflects that perfect harmony of old-world minerality and spice with Napa Cab power, ripeness of fruit, and downright lip-smacking intensity. It’s a beast and a beauty, to be certain. A top Napa winemaker and frequent 100-point “blending consultant” (who also originally arrived here from France) gave this some final touches – and now, this wine is really racing on all cylinders.
The critics have called it “massively built” but also “so pure and beautiful” with “a good, lively mix of red and black fruit” and yeah – you’re most definitely gonna need to add this to your haul straightaway. 96 POINTS and over $155 LESS than the published price?! Best price ANYWHERE by a country mile, too?!
What are you waiting for?! All treats and no tricks here…just a HAUNTINGLY good deal!!!
While it lasts!
