Here’s the skinny: Magna Carta unites two of Napa’s top vintners – Peter Heitz and Scott Palazzo – under the direction of long-time wine industry veteran, David Choi. Peter is a 4th generation winemaker, and long-time Turnbull wine whisperer (who also crafts his own Shypoke wines in Calistoga), while Scott Palazzo is the Right Bank wunderkind who is responsible for some of Napa’s most prized Cabernet Francs and merlot based wines. Together, they forge a tiny production of seriously EPIC Napa Cab-based vino – worthy of every fine wine aficionado’s attention!
The 2021 boasts a Cabernet heavy blend – clocking in at 88% Cabernet sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. The fruit hails from a bevy of tippy-top prized vineyards across the valley – mostly Oakville, Carneros, and Howell Mountain.
