La Massa’s Giorgio Primo flagship is back – in a big way – and we’re absolutely shaking with anticipation to get this beeeeyyooooootiful juice into your hands as quickly as humanly possible. Way, WAY less inventory than we’d like...short vintage, increasing global demand – you can’t even imagine how many bottles of Champagne it took to convince Giampaolo to give us as much as he did!!! So to the fastest fingers goes the absolute best, pound-for-pound, dollar-for-dollar SUPER-TUSCAN on planet Earth!
Any one of you that scored our simply WICKED deal on some of Giampaolo Motta’s library raids from several months back already knows...this is the tippy-top tier of uber-elite Super-Tuscan wines...just without the crazy price tags you see from a lot of those big-name (and bigger production) guys. This Giorgio Primo (named after Giampaolo’s firstborn) will stand toe-to-toe with the prize-fighting juggernauts of Italy, with enough left in the tank to throw down with Bordeaux’s best...and I’ll say again – we scored some for UNDER $80!!!
What’s it like, you ask? LUXURIOUS! Liquid cashmere, with an opening bouquet of new leather, violets, blackberry coulis, pipe tobacco, and a medley of exotic spices and herbs. The sultry, expansive juice glides across your mouth, filling each corner with wonder and delight...and this minty, berry-laden, mocha-dusted finish! The warm 2020 vintage (and the massive frost issues in the early going) makes for one of the softest and most approachable Giorgio Primo’s I’ve had yet – but the fine grip of Giampaolo’s heart and soul holds on long after each sip – ensuring yet another cellar-worthy beauty is ready for any time you choose to drink it! Now or 20 years from now – this is one impressive beauty.
