That’s less than parking for two hours in SF, or a dog and a beer at the ballpark, this is pedigree, history, and sheer deliciousness for a song! 90 hectares just north of the Spanish border in the far southeastern corner of France – this is Catalan perfection – with old vines, following ORGANIC, biodynamic, and sustainable farming, on soils you’d swear are top-notch CdP!!! A fine wine value if it were $60, a steal at the full retail of $45, but at our remarkable price…HUZZAH! It’s a no-brainer for certain! MMMMM! Grab it, quick....!
Can you say PERFUME? Wow – how is this so aromatic, and sweet, and plummy, and heady? It is purple-ness in all its lip-smacking glory --- with tons of complex layers of plum sauce, licorice, black cherry, rose petals, cinnamon bark, sweet French oak, mocha...all in a rich, round, mouth-coating texture. This is drinking AT PEAK right now – though it has the BOLDNESS, the structure, and the intensity to easily thrive over the next 5+ years! We could go on like this endlessly...but just HURRY and get it because we BARELY have enough, and wines of this sort always sell out – I mentioned the whole 96 POINTS and UNDER $20 parts, right??? What a day!!!
** OK, OK I've got a confession - after tasting this wine I actually hid it from everyone else under my desk for a few hours making sure I could have a glass in the morning for tasting notes, and then one in the afternoon with my lunch (chicken and andouille gumbo.) Sorry, not sorry. I put it up on the communal bar before EOD! **
