Alright, Bastille Day is ROLLING! Château Haut de la Bécade – if you had never heard of them until just recently (or even today) – we’ve got you!!!! Here’s the cliffnotes…Pauillac just ain’t that big folks, and this left bank gem sits right between some seriously iconic BEASTS of Bordeaux – Lynch Bages, Mouton Rothschild, Pontet Canet, Both Pichons AND Château Latour! I mean, C’MON! Are you living your BEST life? YES, because we’ve got the goods! 95 POINTS from the rip-roaringly awesome 2020 vintage that easily tastes like something 3 or 4X the price! That’s not quite Mouton or Latour level, but hey, we’re getting closer! And for UNDER $35?!?!
Say it again…YESSS!!! Utterly CLASSIC Bordeaux flavors and textures too! Opens with this pencil lead/shaved graphite thing, then light flowers…you know, like roses just about to open or violets fit to POP…followed by this haunting creme de cassis and kirsch sensation that tickles your very tongue! Plums, too, and dark chocolate, some tobacco, and…AND! Crazy depth and this baby is just getting STARTED!
