Chateau d' Issan Le Haut Medoc d'Issan 2020
Sell out alert! We TOLD you it would go quick! Up next…UNDER $30 from one of the top estates in the region, and one of the most exciting vintages in years…DO NOT miss this!
Even more BORDEAUX? Let’s GOOOOOO! Oh me, oh my…what a mighty fine vinous Saturday we have in store! The absolutely STUNNING 2020 vintage, from a 3rd Growth, Grand Cru Classe 1855 Margaux estate (that goes back to the 12th century, btw)...I give you…Château d’Issan!!!
We’re talking less than one half mile from Château Margaux herself (and Palmer, Lascombes, and other tippy-top Margaux gems), comprised of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, and a smattering of 80-year-old Petite Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and even a splash of Malbec! Bordeaux’s Fantabulous Five are all here, and vigneron Emmanuele Cruse continues his noble work of revolutionizing this rising star estate – which already boasts a reputation for the best dollar-for-dollar, pound-for-pound Grand Vin in all of Margaux! We have the kid brother of that 97 point phenom today – and you can’t get this 2020 vinous luminary ANYWHERE else and anywhere near our price!!!
This Médoc Marvel thrived in the exceptional 2020 vintage, made from all estate fruit just west of the Château, on the border of Haut-Médoc and Margaux. Some of the estate’s holdings here were more recently elevated to Margaux status – and when you taste this layered and vinous Bordeaux – you’re gonna understand exactly why! The estate’s motto translates to “FOR THE TABLE OF KINGS AND THE ALTAR OF GODS” and I got to say – one solitary glass in, I’m ready to tattoo that crest to my left pec, just above the heart. (What? That's a good first tattoo, right?) Anywho… you’re gonna want some of this – if you love inky black currant, and blackberry fruits, with blue and red bramble berries too, plus Burgundy Pearl cherries (my favorite!) and this medley of spices, and roasted herbs, and this supporting structure of minerals, tobacco, and charred earth…WOWZA! This beauty is ready to rock, but at this epic UNDER $30 price – it wouldn’t be the wrong call to get at least six or more, for drinking over the next five years or so. This baby is Margaux without the three-digit price tag, and you can only snag it through Last Bottle!
Whatever are you waiting for? Go get ‘em, good people!
