Cascina Adelaide Barolo Fossati 2019

Sell out Alert......DOUBLE 94 POINTS! Barolo is BACK, baby – and in the hands of Last Bottle mega-fave, Cascina Adelaide – you just know this beauty can’t be beat! Over 52% off! Let’s go!

Fossati!!! UNDER $60! You can’t get a deal like this in Europe, or even Italy! Only here at Last Bottle headquarters, friends! We love, love, love these guys – been bringing them in for years, and always visit when we can (long overdue on that front…need a visit to Piemonte, stat)! We are one of the very few in the U.S. to have UNPRECEDENTED access to their top wines, and we purchase every bottle they agree to sell us…and then whimper, beg, and plead for more. You almost NEVER see this top wine in the USA, and if you do – expect to pay closer to the full retail price of $125. But UNDER $60?! Bad news bears time, people – we didn’t get ENOUGH!

I mean, you saw the whole DOUBLE 94 POINTS, right? Don’t wait, seriously. This is the elegant and royal beauty of their cru Barolo collection – and WOWEE – Barolo doesn’t get much sexier than this! Bright, floral, and simply liquid cashmere as it glides across the tongue – dragging a queen’s cape of tingly red currants, sweet raspberries, and luscious cherries along with it! The rose petals! The violets! The camphor and black tea, with nips of rosemary, and cinnamon, and this black earth, button mushroom, and fresh-poured asphalt character. Mineral-y, fruity, and just delightfully complex – it’s drinking superbly even now, but MY WORD!!! One glance into my crystal ball tells me this is only beginning its journey of decades of deliciousness! Cascina Adelaide’s state-of-the-art gravity-fed winery, tucked just beneath the hilltop Castello di Barolo in some of the most stunningly gorgeous vineyard land in all the world has really raised these wines to the next level – and the major wine press has taken notice. Well – BACK OFF! We found these glorious humans first – and we’ll not give them up without a fight!

This “Fossati” cru is owned by Cascina Adelaide’s Drocco family, a prized 400-meter elevation vineyard on the southwestern edge of Barolo, in the famed La Morra area. This southeast-facing plot thrives on clay and limestone and has become revered for silky, elegant wines that show a delicate nature to Barolo. Don’t get me wrong – this is as powerful as all get out, and well-suited to impress the pants of Barolo lovers for decades to come – but DANG! It’s soooo good right now, I’m gonna have to pour another glass (or two)!

Only 500 cases made, good people – so far less than what we’d like to have scored. This will sell out in no time – so grab yours before it's gone for good!!!
