Say…WHAT?! That’s a cranium-melting 65% OFF the winery price – which is an already serious value at just $40. But FOURTEEN AMERICAN DOLLARS for this???? Just insanity…even for a slow, holiday-weekend Sunday.
If overtly opulent movie-theatre popcorn butter, and nuttier than squirrel poo Chardonnays are your jam – this baby just ain’t for you! But if you like them crisp and zippy, with unbridled Freshness of a Bel Air Prince – run those little fingers to your cart forthwith!!! Longtime winemaker and Napa native, Chris Kajani, makes this boisterous beauty with transparency of fruit in mind – and good ol’ Cali-Carneros sunshine gives this all the weight, complexity, and substance you could ever want – just without the heaviness of new oak, or the fat-roundness of malolactic fermentation. The happy result is pale golden AMBROSIA – awash with honeysuckle, and golden apples, then Bartlett pears, with wisps of star jasmine, and these intensely flinty river rocks, before mellowing into fresh-cut grass, and warm cider-y spices. Full, spicy, and rich, with a velvety texture, and an utterly ELECTRIFYING bright and zippy bite on the finish. If this were a 1940s Batman comic, you’d actually see the "KAPOW!" bubble floating in your glass.
