93 POINTS, too? I’ll take it! I’ve been drinking this like…well, like the eminently crushable Sauvignon Blanc it is – for the last two weeks, and I have a sneaky suspicion that the powers that be decided to offer up the last of what’s left to y’all to stop me from buying every last bottle!!!
This new and dazzling star in the historic BV portfolio is just KILLER – done up in that White Bordeaux style, where bright, zippy, and steely fruit meets a dash of new French oak, with batonnage and aging on the lees, to build a bit of round, creamy, and spicy character. The result is soul-satisfying and flat-out DELICIOUS – even at the winery’s $40 price! But here? Today? We’re karate-chopping that by over half – dropping this bottle of delectability to just NINETEEN DOLLARS!
Bad news? We don’t have much…way, way less than what we’d consider a “normal” offer amount, and when you factor in the legendary icon and in-the-know pull of a producer like B.V. – welp, FLY is all I can say!!! It’s not every day you can score a new bottling from one of Napa Valley’s most historic producers…and especially not at prices as low as THIS!!! It’s a good thing I’m headed to the airport for a plane ride to Champagne today (poor me!) ‘cause otherwise there is simply NO WAY that I’d have any bottles left for my Thanksgiving table. (This and green bean casserole? Or leftover turkey sandwiches the next day? Or braised turkey tacos the day after that? YES!!!)
