Raj made that chef-to-wine transition (that I definitely know a thing or two about) and mentored under the great Larry Stone at SF’s legendary Rubicon restaurant. He soon found himself as the lead sommelier for Michael Mina’s entire restaurant empire, with over 20 spots across the USA. Evening Lands heralded his launch onto the production side of wine, and further experience working alongside the late, great Jim Clendenen of Au Bon Climat helped to set the stage for his own launch of a handful of artisan productions like Domaine de la Côte, Sandhi, and Phelan Farms.
So…without further ado, I yield the floor to the man himself! He popped every bottle (about 30+ of them), tasted every wine, and wrote his own thoughts on each. Raj’s take: "Cassis, black cherry, and subtle cigar box on the nose. The palate is structured yet refined, with elegant tannins and a layered core of dark fruit. Fresh acidity carries through to a long, precise finish. A Mountain Cabernet of depth and poise, showing both power and grace."
