Andrew Will Red Blend Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Red Mountain Yakima Valley 2019

Andrew Will Red Blend Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Red Mountain Yakima Valley 2019

Another Washington red on deck! 94+ POINTS, an unimaginable pedigree, and Last Bottle’s simply can’t-be-matched pricing. Nobody – I mean, NOBODY has this at anywhere near our price!

This is a must-have, crazy-limited Bordeaux Blend that mimics Cheval Blanc and DEMANDS a place in any fine wine collection! Cheval Blanc has long been the pinnacle of my “if I ever win the powerball” purchases…but until my numbers cash in to make those dreams come true – you can bet I’m going BIG on Andrew Will’s incredible Ciel du Cheval red!

“Focused, dusty and delightful … with a long, dusty, mineral finish that will allow this gorgeous wine to age gracefully for years to come …” - Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

I mean…C’MON!!! Ciel du Cheval was supposed to mean “Horse Heaven” – after the Horse Heaven ridge that runs along the Yakima Valley – but thanks to a wee lost in translation moment…it actually means, “Sky of the Horse”. The vineyard was planted on the slopes of Red Mountain, Washington, back in 1975, and in a relatively short time, has become one of the top vineyards in the state – if not all of North America! Andrew Will, Quilceda Creek, Ken Wright, Seven Hills – some of Washington’s biggest names go absolutely ga-ga for this prime fruit, and this 2019 from Andrew Will is simply one of the very, very best!

A rush of blackberries, and plums, with black cherries, too…and this totally Bordeaux-esque medley of graphite, pipe tobacco, and culinary herbs like sage, rosemary, and lavender. It’s full, but never heavy, with a structured minerality that extends the finish fantastically. A dusting of cocoa powder lingers long after each sip, and dusty, powerful tannins that prove this worthy of laying down for another decade-plus. It’s hard to pass on right now – especially at our completely insane price of just FORTY TWO DOLLARS! 94+ points and one gorgeous Cheval Blanc-styled wine…at a price like that? While it lasts!
